About Dr. Suraj Munjal

Dr. Suraj Munjal is a leading ophthalmologist and refractive eye surgeon based in New Delhi, India, with over 23 years of clinical and surgical experience. He is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of The Sight Avenue Eye Hospitals (formerly Spectra Eye), one of North India’s most advanced centers for eye care and laser vision correction.
Dr. Munjal graduated from Pt. B.D. PGIMS, Rohtak. He completed his MS in Ophthalmology at University College of Medical Sciences and GTB Hospital, Delhi. He then pursued fellowships in phacoemulsification and refractive surgery. These included training at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital (Mumbai) and the University of Tübingen, Germany.
Dr. Munjal specializes in many ophthalmic procedures, including LASIK, SMILE, ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens), cataract surgery, corneal transplants, and oculoplastic surgeries. He has personally performed over 25,000 cataract surgeries, 10,000 LASIK procedures, and more than 1,000 corneal transplants. This makes him one of India’s most experienced and trusted eye surgeons.
Under his leadership, The Sight Avenue Eye Hospitals employ advanced ophthalmic technology from global producers such as Zeiss, Alcon, and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. This approach ensures precision, safety, and rapid patient recovery. Dr. Munjal is a member of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), and the Squint Society of India (SSI). He served as a Consultant Eye Surgeon to the Chief Minister of Mizoram and regularly conducts free eye camps for underprivileged communities across India.
His innovative work in squint correction earned the Best Paper Award at AIOS 2008. His ongoing efforts have established him as a leader in modern refractive surgery in India.
